GET HIRED … NOW … BE YOUR OWN BOSS
You just got laid off? You’re broke or close to it? Whether you just need
some extra money or you can’t find a job no matter how hard you look. Maybe
have a record and nobody will hire you? Perhaps you have an illness or
disability that limits where or how you can work or you just want to work part
time. Somewhere in here you will likely find at least one idea (and probably
more than one) that will ignite your rocket to successfully create your own
income.
This is a Free report of ways to make money without having a boss.
I have personally done some of these gigs and have had friends that have
done others. Some of these ideas have come from observing life around me. Some
of these ideas are fleshed out and others are just random ideas that have
crossed my path through life. They all have the potential to bring money into
your life. The critical thing to focus on is not that you need to make money
but rather how you can solve a problem for other people. Very few people are
concerned about your problems but if you can solve their problems
you can make money by doing so.
Here are some examples:
1.
Our church had an outreach to the homeless. We helped a
man that I met there to get back on his feet by using this idea. He would watch
Craigslist and local Facebook groups for upcoming garage / yard sales and
message the people asking if he could clean up after the sale by hauling off
the stuff that was left unsold. At least one in ten would say yes. Then he
would take what he got and sell anything worthwhile on either eBay or Facebook
Marketplace. He quickly was making a few hundred dollars a week doing this.
Whatever he couldn’t sell he donated to Goodwill or Salvation Army or trashed.
He solved a problem for the people that just wanted to get rid of the leftovers
after their garage sales and at the same time he solved problems for people of
limited finances who needed items that they couldn’t otherwise afford.
2.
Print up some
fliers that tell your story and pass them out door to door or post in local
Facebook groups offering to do odd jobs that homeowners don’t want to or can’t
do themselves such as pet waste removal, painting, window cleaning, mowing the
lawn or snow shoveling, clean their BBQ, clean their patio furniture or
whatever they need done. Quick cash money. If need be you can even go to your
local library to use the computers and printer there. Go in person to ten
different people in your town. Ask each one of them what small chores they
would rather not have to do themselves. By the time you get done you will
likely have several ideas of ways to make money. Keep good notes of who said
what. Pick one or more of those ideas and get to work. People will always have
chores they would rather not have to do themselves whether it’s cleaning up
after their pet or washing their windows or whatever. Using this trick should
provide you with a limitless supply of ideas and customers.
3.
Flip furniture. You can frequently get it for free or
really cheap when people are moving and don’t have enough room in either the
truck or in their new digs. They often have to literally make last minute
decisions and just need someone to haul it away. Then sell on Craigslist,
OfferUp or Facebook Marketplace. Quick money and no annoying government
paperwork. This idea works especially well at the end of a month as people are
moving out of their apartment or at the end of a college semester when students
are going home or moving.
4.
Roadside fruit and/or honey sales
On your days off set up a
“fruit stand” next to a busy road. Find a fruit and vegetable wholesaler within
a reasonable distance of you and buy a box or two of whatever is in season at
the time. For example if it’s peach harvest season set up a folding table and
make a nice display of peaches on it and hide the empty box in your car. Make
large signs that say “Fresh Peaches” and let people assume that you are the
grower. People love that sort of thing and you can make good money doing it.
Sell by the count and not by the pound in order to not need to have a certified
scale.
5.
Roadside flower sales, especially for Valentine’s Day and
Mother’s Day
6.

some food ideas require permits, etc.

brownies.
1.
Buy a box or two of Brownie Mix. Use EBT if necessary.
2.
Make the brownies, cut them and put them in sandwich size
ziplock bags.
3.
Take your kids to a public playground.
4.
While your kids play sell the brownies to other mothers.
You can make a very good profit doing this. It really works!

the work. Offer your services by posting on local Facebook groups. You should

11.
Picnics to go –
put together everything needed for a picnic and the customer just picks it up
and heads out for the fun without the hassle. Get a deposit before you buy the
goodies and also on the basket to make sure they return it afterwards.
12. You might consider what I refer to as
“last-minute” childcare. Imagine if your spouse suddenly decides it would be a
good idea to go out to dinner tonight but you have no babysitter lined up. By
offering your services as a last-minute babysitter you can charge a premium
price. Advertise in local Facebook groups, especially groups for young parents.
13.
Go to
Home Depot, go to the section for window cleaning (usually near the cleaner
chemicals) buy a squeegee, a window mop, a bucket, a window scraper, a pole,
some microfiber towels, and some dawn dish soap. Get business cards from Vista Print.
Go door to door with businesses: “Hi. My name is _____. I own an independent
window cleaning company and we’re trying to expand in this area. I noticed your
windows were dirty and I’d be willing to clean all of them for $30. Give them
your business card. Facebook groups marketing for residential homes. Build and
scale.
